Health Guarantee
10-year health guarantee
At Sweet Southern Schnauzers LLC, the health and well-being of every puppy we produce is our top priority. Through careful selection of breeding stock, responsible breeding practices, and extensive health testing, we strive to raise healthy, genetically sound Miniature Schnauzers for families to love for a lifetime.
Every breeding dog in our program undergoes comprehensive genetic screening through Embark DNA Testing before being considered for our breeding program. We do not knowingly breed dogs affected by any genetic disease testable through Embark at the time of breeding.
Lifetime Genetic Health Guarantee
We proudly stand behind our puppies with a Lifetime Genetic Health Guarantee covering any genetic disease that:
- Is included on the Embark testing panel at the time the sire and dam were tested
- Is confirmed through genetic testing and diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian
- Is proven to be inherited and not the result of injury, neglect, environmental factors, infections, parasites, toxins, accidents, or improper care
Our Puppy Families Agree To
- Have their puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival
- Maintain proper veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, and routine healthcare
- Notify Sweet Southern Schnauzers LLC within 30 days of diagnosis of any covered genetic condition
- Provide veterinary records and supporting documentation if a claim is made
What Is Not Covered
While we stand behind our genetics, no breeder can control every aspect of a dog’s life. This guarantee does not cover:
- Injuries, accidents, abuse, neglect, or improper care
- Viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic illnesses
- Allergies, autoimmune disorders, cancer, epilepsy, thyroid disease, or conditions not currently testable through Embark
- Conditions added to testing panels after the parents were originally tested
- Cosmetic traits or conditions that do not impact quality of life
If a Covered Genetic Disease Is Confirmed
Should a covered genetic disease be verified, Sweet Southern Schnauzers LLC will provide a replacement puppy of equal value from the next available litter, at the breeder’s discretion.
Veterinary expenses, medications, surgeries, transportation costs, and other related expenses are not covered under this guarantee.
